Valdemar Nyström (1864–1924) was a Swedish painter known for his landscapes, etchings, and drawings. Born in Stockholm, he studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and traveled extensively across France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, and Belgium to refine his artistic style.

Nyström was associated with the Skagen Painters, a Scandinavian artist colony, and spent time in Grez-sur-Loing, another well-known artistic retreat. His works often depict natural scenery, with a focus on light and atmosphere. Some of his notable paintings include Sommarlandskap med vallmo (Summer Landscape with Poppies) and Månskenspromenad på Skagen (Moonlight Walk in Skagen).

His art has been auctioned multiple times, with prices ranging from modest sums to over $60,000, reflecting his enduring appeal. He is represented in collections such as the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Skagens Museum.

Peder Severin Krøyer (23 July 1851, Stavanger – 21 November 1909, Skagen), known as P.S. Krøyer, was a Danish painter. He is one of the best known and beloved, and undeniably the most colorful of the Skagen Painters, a community of Danish and Nordic artists who lived, gathered or worked in Skagen, Denmark, especially during the final decades of the 19th century. Krøyer was the unofficial leader of the group.
