Móricz ‘Maurice’ Góth (Hungarian , 1873-1944)

Móricz "Maurice" Góth (1873-1944) was a Hungarian painter known for his portraits and landscapes. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany and later traveled extensively throughout Europe, particularly Italy and France. Góth was a member of the Nagybánya artists' colony in Hungary, which was known for its plein-air painting style and use of bright colors. Góth's work is characterized by his attention to detail and his ability to capture the mood and atmosphere of his subjects. He was a successful artist during his lifetime and exhibited his work widely in Hungary and abroad.
