Paul Hugo ten Hoopen was a Dutch painter and graphic artist who was born in 1927. He was known for his abstract and expressive paintings, as well as his lithographs and etchings. Ten Hoopen studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague and was a member of the Pulchri Studio, a group of artists who were associated with the city's avant-garde movement. He exhibited his work widely in Europe and the United States, and his paintings can be found in private and public collections around the world. In addition to his work as an artist, ten Hoopen was also involved in the art world as a teacher, critic, and curator.
