Werner Hartmann was a Swiss painter and graphic artist who was born in 1903 and died in 1981. He was known for his landscapes, still lifes, and portrait paintings, as well as his etchings and lithographs. Hartmann studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was a member of the Swiss Society of Graphic Artists. He exhibited his work widely in Europe and the United States, and his paintings can be found in private and public collections around the world. In addition to his work as an artist, Hartmann also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was involved in the art world as a critic and curator.
