Spring Sun on the Hill

Axel Nilsson (1889-1980) was a Swedish painter known for his landscapes, still lifes, and genre scenes. He was born in Gothenburg and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Nilsson was a member of the Swedish Artists' Association and his work was exhibited widely in Sweden and abroad. He was known for his ability to capture the mood and atmosphere of the Swedish countryside and its inhabitants, and his work is characterized by his use of bright, bold colors. 
Nilsson's work can be found in private and public collections around the world.
