Gustav Wentzel was a Norwegian painter who was active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was born in 1859 and died in 1927. Wentzel was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts and is known for his landscapes and portraits. He was particularly interested in the use of light and color in his work, and his paintings are characterized by their bright, expressive use of color. Wentzel was also a member of the Berliner Sezession, a group of artists who exhibited together in Berlin and were known for their avant-garde approach to art. He exhibited his work widely in Norway and abroad, and his paintings can be found in museums and private collections around the world
