Portrait of a Lady (La Cordobesa) (1930)
Julio Romero de Torres was a Spanish painter who was active in the early 20th century. He was born in 1874 in Córdoba, Spain, and studied art at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Madrid. Romero de Torres was known for his portraits, which were characterized by their strong, expressive brushwork and attention to detail. He was also interested in landscapes and still lifes, and his work often had a strong sense of atmosphere and mood.
Romero de Torres exhibited his work widely in Spain and internationally, and his work can be found in many public and private collections.
